Puppies from Litter D
17 and 18 February 2024 – the last two little sisters are leaving
A month after saying goodbye to most of the puppies, the decision was made that Darlene would stay at home. Beautiful Dolores will travel abroad, to Hungary to Galina. Broncovi from Žamberk will come to pick up Doreen. There is already Bernard from the second litter in this town, so there is hope they will become friends and see each other. Doreen will remain in co-ownership.
18 – 20 January 2024 – puppies leaving for their new homes
On Thursday, 18 January, the puppies reached eight weeks of age, and so the time has come to say goodbye and send them off to the homes of their new owners. It seems that once again it has been possible to find responsible, active and loving families for them. And because there are great hopes for these very promising little ones, there is the expectation of meeting at least most of the new owners regularly at shows, trials and similar events. Wishing lots of luck and good health, little ones!!!
For now, three little princesses are staying at home, and the right one will still be chosen to stay. The remaining two will be offered only to truly serious applicants who wish to make use of their potential for shows and possible breeding.
12 January 2024 – seven-week-old puppies
The puppies celebrated seven weeks of life. On Friday, Romeo’s breeders, Kamila and Jana, came to visit them to cuddle them and, once again after a week, take portrait and stack photos. On Saturday, the vet was asked to examine and microchip all the puppies. So now they have identification and their own names. They also went out of their warm little room into the January cold for the first time to experience the outside world. They loved it, had a good run, and stretched out in the larger space.
The final stage is approaching; in a week they will start leaving for their new homes. This time it went by incredibly fast, probably because there were so many of them that there was hardly enough time to fully enjoy each one. There are only a few days left, so it is time for extra cuddles :-)
6 January 2024 – Epiphany Photo Shoot
On Thursday 4 January, the puppies turned six weeks old. They received another deworming treatment and were weighed so it would be clear which weight category they belong to :-) For Epiphany Saturday, a veterinarian was arranged to carry out the puppies’ first vaccination. Before that, there was an attempt to take their first show poses and portrait photos. Since it was really the very first attempt, some of the poses did not turn out very well, so on Sunday, with the assistance of Aura’s breeder, Katka Švarcová, the session was successfully repeated. And here is the result:
26 December 2023 – first big photo shoot of the little ones
Fittingly on St. Stephen’s Day, the presence of the son Štěpán was used to officially photograph the four-week-old puppies in a festive Christmas atmosphere.
22 December – pre-Christmas time
The puppies have just completed their first month of life, and a period of getting to know everything around them, as well as each other, is beginning. They are curious and, now that they have little teeth, they try everything out by biting it.
17 December 2023 - the puppies are three weeks old
We are switching to solid food – soaked Royal Canin Starter kibble and blended chicken meat with rice. We also had to enlarge the living space and create a run outside the box.
We have also already sent the names to be registered in the studbook:
The boys are Darwin and Dexter, the girls are Darlene, Deana, Donnatela, Doreen, Dolores, Dasha, Debbie, Dorothy, Darja, Dajana and Daphne.
3 December 2023 - ten-day-old puppies
Given the number of puppies and to help Aura and ease the load on her a bit, we are starting to supplement with puppy milk from a bottle a few days earlier.

23 November 2023 – birth of litter "D"
On Wednesday morning, 22 November, Aura’s mucus plug came out, so it was expected that she would give birth by evening. In the late afternoon she was already nervous, pacing, panting, but nothing happened. It went on like this until the early morning hours, when at 3:30 a.m. she expelled a dead puppy, which was very small and had no chance of survival. It was understood that this was probably the cause of the problems at the end of the pregnancy. Most likely, due to the pressure of the others, the amniotic sac of this puppy had ruptured and it survived only thanks to the connection through the umbilical cord, and in the last days it did not develop like the others. Fortunately, this was really the last complication. At 6:45 a.m. Aura started to give birth normally and finished with the last little girl at 5 p.m. The number of 13 puppies was not such a big surprise. That had been expected after the ultrasound examination. What was more surprising was the gender imbalance of the litter :-)) The order was: seven girls in a row, one boy, a girl, a boy and another three girls, so all in all 11 girls and two boys. Even other experienced breeders do not remember a litter with so many females. Romeo confirmed that he is a good stud :-)) What matters is that all the puppies are lively, have a good appetite and look healthy and content, just like their mum Aura, who is only exhausted after the long birth. She now has to regain a lot of strength, because feeding so many constantly hungry mouths will be a big challenge for her, one that will certainly be helped with as much as possible.
Parents of litter "D"
Aura and Romeo

After Aura did not become pregnant in the spring with the beautiful Duke in Germany, we soon had to decide again which dog to choose for her so that our ideas about future offspring would be fulfilled. It is true that we also drew on our previous choices. However, we made things clear at the club show in Náměšť na Hané. Once again, I saw HIM in the ring and became even more convinced that this is the best solution for Aura. We decided on Romeo because in recent years he has ranked among the top stud dogs in the Czech Republic, which he has confirmed many times. There is no point in even commenting on the list of his titles and wins (they can be viewed by clicking on the link below). For us, it is important that he meets all the parameters we expect – a magnificent exterior, health, working abilities and, above all, an amazing temperament. He passes all these qualities on to his offspring. This is evidenced by the fact that they also place at the top, both in the show ring and in various types of working trials. This is our modest breeding goal – to pass on the best possible offspring with the best genes.
In combination with Aura, we expect to achieve the same quality of puppies as Romeo showed in the litter with Aura’s mother Arwen in 2021.

Romeo’s character through the eyes of his owner:
Romeo could not have been given a better name. It perfectly captures his personality – the nature of a hot‑blooded Italian with unflagging temperament and at the same time a great lover of everything and everyone.
He comes from a combination that captivated the owner, who believed in him from the very beginning. Romeo’s father is the magnificent Berry from Sweden, who has produced wonderful offspring over his lifetime, and it was always a dream to have one of them. His mother is the equally beautiful Lady, through whom very interesting bloodlines of both conformation and working quality have come to the Czech Republic.
What truly stands out about Romeo is his constant desire to please. Working with him is very easy and brings great joy and fun. He retrieves everything with huge enthusiasm, works game with a soft mouth, is focused and easy to handle. Together they mainly take part in working tests, but also in hunting training and obedience. As a young dog, Romeo easily passed canistherapy exams as well as hunting trials, which makes him a fully qualified hunting dog. From the age of three he has also been used in hunting practice in a pheasantry.
Since puppyhood, Romeo has been placing excellently at prestigious shows both at home and abroad. He became a junior champion of three countries, twice a young club winner, and many times has ranked at the very top in final competitions. At 22 months he earned the res. CACIB title in huge competition at the European Dog Show in Warsaw. There he also gained his first beauty champion title – Champion of Poland – which is certainly not his last. At the age of three he also won a strongly entered working class at the most prestigious show, Crufts in England, thereby securing a lifetime qualification.
Showing Romeo is an experience, a joy, and above all a reward. He is a born talent, a natural show dog who loves to be the center of attention and admiration. On top of that, he is very attractive in type. He is a dog of ideal height, with excellent bone strength, a pronounced chest and forechest, a beautiful topline and a rich coat. His wonderful, ground‑covering movement and sweet expression, with which he wins everyone over, must not go unmentioned.
The cherry on top is his ever cheerful and kind nature. He is very sociable and cuddly and will never turn down a spot on the couch or in the bed. A truly magnificent dog in body and soul, with whom it is a joy to share life.
Romeo
